Hi!! I'm back from India. It was a wonderful experience. A mind blower..
Day1
We took a 5 hour flight to New Delhi. Arriving there at 9plus local time. Which means Singapore time is around 11plus. Was tired.. We took a bus to the hotel on the way we saw the night life of Delhi. Not much of activities.. The streets were quite dirty and buildings look shabby. The rewarding thing is the hotel.. Its just like any other 5star hotel.. very comfortable.. A queen size bed all to myself.. SHIOK! Hahahas. By the time we reach the hotel i was half dead already.. needed to sleep badly. So without bothering to change or anything i just climbed into bed and knock out.
Day2
We woke up as early as 4. Woke up wash up and me and Afifah went to joseph's room to play cards.. Played Big2. After that we went to eat breakfast. Have i mentioned how heavy our bagpack is? its SUPER HEAVY. So heavy that it can break your backs.. Breakfast was nice.. We greeted each other good morning.. It actually feels good to say good morning. After that we set out at 5.30am. Their 5.30 looks like 8 in S'pore. It was so BRIGHT that i thought it was 8 already. We took bus to the train station. It was very crowded.. we had to stick together to keep out of danger. pick pockets are very common in India so we had to look after one another. We took the train for abt 4 hours. The train service was very good. In fact all they do is serve us food and more food. we arrive at haridwar. We ate lunch. The first time we ate real indian style food. It wasn't that bad. After that we took jeep ride for abt 5 hours.. it was HORRIBLE .It was the most uncomfortable ride i've taken. Everyone started to get motion sickness and vomit. I became a bit tipsy.. like cannot walk properly.. headache and wanted to vomit but cannot.. very horrible. But later part of the ride Mr. Andrew helped alot. Gave tips on how to overcome this sickness.. so i felt much better after that. But poor Afifah was getting worse by hour.. I hugged her to sleep.. poor her. We reached the base camp.. It is a tent like hotel with a toilet inside. It is cozy. After dinner we all retired to our beds..
Day3
Woke up and ate breakfast. Took ah hour jeep ride to our starting point. We start from Sangamchatti. The trek was something i did not expect. Didn't think it was so tough and it is a totally new experience.. 1 bottle of water was not enough. We stopped many times because aunty Irene was not fit enough or think she had muscle cramp.. so stop several times.. but we eventually made it to Agoda village. We camp just beside a river.. nice village. When i reached there i had AMS(altitute mountain sickness). Had headache and felt like vommiting.. so mr. andrew told me to go sleep. I missed out going to the river we them.. but i felt btr after the sleep.. At night is was quite cold.. There was no light so we had to bring our own torch light. But the moon light was very bright. This was the very first night we slept in tents.. the sleeping bag was thick and comfy. but despite all these i still felt cold.
Day4
woke up at 7 and brushed our teeth with hot water.. the amazing thing is that id did not burn bcoz i was so cold that the hot water was not so hot.. i was i/c for today. and gladson was 2ndi/c.
today the trek was more demanding. We walk in hail and snow and rain. It was a wonderful experience. Something that not everyone can experience. long and exhausting but the campsite was rewarding. We camped beside the lake.. It was a magnificent view.. When we reached there, it was still raining so they could not set up tents for us. So had to sleep in a hut. all 10 gals plus 2 parents slept in a 6m by 6m hut. we ate dinner at the boys room. Their room is nice and warm. We couldn't share room and the boys can't take the hut because the boys were more den girls so we had to be reasonable. Today alot of people were not feeling well. Like aaron, ivan, ary and a few more. Oh and we had a dug out toilet. Its like a small changing tent but just that inside it there is a hole to do all the business. =D STINK LIKE HELL. It was so gross. That night was so cold.. couldn't sleep well. woke up several times. and aunty Irene snored damn loudly.. XP
day5
not all of us were able to go to the summit. total of 8 did not make it up. The trek up is really torturous but i made it up. I was the secong girl. =D very happy. The feeling was so good. It was really a sense of achievement, something that felt real good. It felt like top of the world. By then the altitute was nearing 4000m. Ary had a terrible headache. was quite worried for him. But he was alright after that =D. We took many photos. After awhile up there it started to snow. so we ate lunch under snow.. cool right?? hahas. we had to hurry down because there was lightening. It was really a pity we couldn't stay longer.. The view was really WOW WOW WOW. I just couldn't get my eyes off the scenery. So damn nice. While we went down the snow became heavier so we had to be really careful. It was dangerouse and more tiring. My knee almost gave way.. We helped to look out for each other. When we reached back to campsite, the tents were all up. Ready to sleep but it was still early to sleep so we hanged out. Afifah was not well so i left her in tent sleeping. I went to the dining tent. There were a few of us there with mr. Andrew. He taught us History and Geography for a full hour plus. damn funny. He is a damn funny guy. And his life is very interesting. That night was the coldest of all nights. I learnt that with hardwork, comes SUCCESS!
Day6
We started to trek back to the previous campsite. The original plan was to climb to the summit and go to the other side of the mountain but because not all of us made it so we had to cancel off the idea. Was disappointed at first but to think of those who did't even go to the summit it made me feel grateful that i was able to reach up there. The trek down was more chanllenging because alot of pressure was put on my knees so my right knee started to hurt. Had to be really careful. It was not so cold when we went down and it took us shorter journey time. Maybe because we were so used to the cold temperature that the lower altitute was actually warm for us. We manage to sleep peacefully that night. Nice and comfy.
Day7
We trekked back to our starting point. It was easy but we still had to watch our steps. Upon reaching the end point we gave our appreciation to the locals who helped us and followed us up to the top. We gave them Singapore dollars. After that we took the jeep back to the tent resort. That was the very firstme after 5 days we had shower. So apparently we on showered 2 times so far. It was damn refreshing. And the sun was damn hot and nice. had a bit of tanning. after that we planned our CIP performance. Had lots of conflict but manage to work things out. Dayang was running a fever then so she had to stay in bed. Oh and for the past few nights, dinner always had chapati and dhal. always the same eat till scared. hahas.. night fall and we saw fireflies.
Day8
We had jeep ride for abt 9 hours. It was damn horrible. Another motion sickness journey. But this time it wasn't so bad.. just that at the end i ate too much lunch so a bit headache and want to vomit. but overall i'll rate myself good. Maybe because mr. andrew was in the same jeep as me and always ask me to sleep. hahas. he is GOOD. We reached Mussorie. Checked in to a British hotel. One of the oldest. Although the building looks ancient but the furniture and everything was okay. We went to shop for awhile in the evening. The streets was busy. And many things were sold there. Dinner time i sat outside with Zahrin, Ary and Alika cause the dinning room did not have enough space so we ate at the bench outside. The moon was super nice bright and full. b4 that the moon was orangy red. a very perculiar colour. That night i did some hanah. Kinda cool night.
Day9
we took jeep to do CIP at one of the local school. The study environment there was very bad. Classrooms were small but the students there look happy. They take education very seriously. They did some performance for us to see and we did our performance. We took pictures and we set off to the train station. We took to New Delhi. Upon arrival we checked in to the very first hotel we stayed at. Finally, nice and comfortable beds again. Slept at 1plus.
Day10
Woke up quite late. Breakfast today was super. Damn delicious. YUMMY. After that we went to visit some historical sites. one of them is the India gate. We went to see India's first mosque. Kinda interesting. We drove pass the president's house. very grand. After that we went to do some shopping for 2 hours plus. After that we went to eat at some restaurant. The best dinner. Flight was at 11.10pm so we waited very long for our flight. but alas we were on the plane heading for Singapore. HOME SWEET HOME!
It was a damn nice trip. I wish i could have stayed longer but nope it was only for 10 days. If i had the chance to go for another trip like this one i would diffenitely go!!
